We've been traveling now for a month and a day and I thought it would be great to see how things stand. I'm sure you're wondering if we're putting on a bold face and pretending we love it while deep down we're ready to kill each other and never set foot in a trailer again. Well if you were expecting some drama or for us to come back with our tails between our legs after one month, you'll be sorely disappointed. We are actually loving our crazy adventure. Yes, the kids are driving us crazy with their bickering. Yes, the kids annoy us when they complain about being bored in the car. But guess what? They did those things at home, too. The difference is that between those moments of bickering and boredom, we are enjoying some of our nation's most beautiful places, exploring nature, learning about history and culture, seeing animals in their natural habitats, and spending more time together as a family. As much as we miss our family and friends back in Milwaukee, we are so excited to continue on this journey for 8 more months.
I asked everyone a few quick questions about the trip:
What are 2-3 of your favorite things we've seen so far?
Jared: The sunset over the Badlands and the sunset on the Living Room Hike in Salt Lake City.
Myrriah: Horseback riding in Moab, Arches National Park.
Avery: The Clark Planetarium, Tracy Aviary and the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium (all in Salt Lake City)
Ophelia: Horseback riding in Moab, petting the horses in Hulett, WY (at Jared's friend Brice's golf course), and Wheeler Historic Farm, especially milking the cow
Gryffin: Poop on vacation (Gryffin wanted to answer the questions as well but this is all he would say, followed by maniacal laughter...)
What is your favorite part of traveling?
Jared: Meeting different people and seeing a variety of landscapes
Myrriah: I love looking at all the different landscapes as we drive
Avery: Seeing animals
Ophelia: Seeing the world
What is your least favorite part of traveling?
Jared: Driving when the kids are being crazy and loud in the car
Myrriah: The kids whining about being bored in the car
Avery: Gryffin kicking me in the car

What do you miss most about Wisconsin?
Jared: Family and friends
Myrriah: Our family and running my Lularoe business
Avery: I miss my house and our cats.
